    its not in your back garden pond its a problem, its out in the wilds blocking ditches and filling natural ponds swamping everything else, think Japanese knotweed, but underwater.

    At this time of year it grows like crazy.  OH has been taking some out every week ever since the warm spell started ... check it for pond snail and newt eggs etc before you leave it on the side for 24 hours to let any critters make their way back into the pond.  
    In my post above I was referring to oxygenating weed in general ... we have native hornwort in our pond and it's growing like crazy in the warm weather.
