My very mature container grown fern has produced spores on every frond this year and looks awful! Is it likely to do this every year now? If yes, would division or root pruning help ?
You possibly just haven't noticed it before B3. The prolonged hot, dry spell has maybe given it a big kick start - it probably thinks it's going to die, so is hurrying to reproduce
