New bay tree growing from roots of original bay tree

Hi, I have a bay tree planted in the garden which is beautiful. Over the last few years new off shoots appear thinking from the roots. Can you advice how to remove them so we can plant the baby ones somewhere else in the garden without damaging the roots of the original bay. Thankyou in advance

On a cool day where the soil is moist, you can just dig slightly around the plant and cut away from the ground and replant where you want it to grow or place into a pot to grow. This will not harm the main shrub at all.

Thankyou for reply, thats great news and think after the change in weather the ground will be moist enough to enable me to do what you've said. Thanks
