Help garden being eaten alive!!

Hi all I’m a new gardener and having a lot of lovely new plants have been watching in dismay as they’re being chomped away. I initially thought it was slugs and put 2 lots of nematodes down but no help... and perhaps the damage is too high up? Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Do you have any photos of the damage?  And what plants are they? We need a lot more detail before we can help.

Hi, I thought I’d posted several photos? You can’t see them? Hydrangeas, Roses mostly.

Looks like vine weevil damage to me https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=234

I find the nematodes work well  :)

Much of that damage looks like it was made by adult vine weevils.  This is bad news as it means they will have laid eggs in the soil which will hatch into root-eating grubs. Plants in pots are especially susceptible due to lack of natural soil predators.  The good news is that vine weevil nematodes are available which will kill the grubs, as are traps for the adults. :)
