Ligustrum lucidum (glossy privet) as a hedge?

Does anyone have any experience of growing ligustrum lucidum as a hedge? From my internet search it appears it can be used as a hedge but is more commonly grown as a tree. I really like the foliage and so would love to grow it as a hedge if it is not too difficult. If it is difficult then I might try the common form of privet instead.
