Apple tree problem

hi all,  I am having a problem with my young Apple tree. It’s a Kidds Orange Red which I believe is a variety of Cox Golden Delicious according to the label. I have attached an image of the damage being caused to the young fruit and was wounding if anyone could shed light on the cause and possible solution

    It looks like Codling moth damage. Have you sliced open the fruits. There’s usually tunnelling through the core area and sometimes you may see small caterpillars. See link below:

    There is a codling moth trap available, it uses a sticky pad and a pheromone. We used this with some success. It's a small tent like structure which hangs from a branch. Perhaps too late for this year, but next....

    Other term is simply maggots
