Brocolli plants

Hi,

I have planted 5 Brocolli plants in my Veg patch and I have harvested all the main heads just slowly picking the side shoots now.

What do I do with the plants once all has been harvested. Do I cut them down to the ground or dig them up and plant some for over winter or next spring?

    No first time time growing Brocolli, I like growing new stuff..teyband do my research but could not find information about the brocolli though.
