Cordyline Removal

We initially had just the one cordyline however this died during a cold winter, but we now have 4 grown back in its place from the same root!

My question is, if we cut down to the stumps and concrete over it, could it push through the concrete or just die off?

We’re moving our garden round and would prefer to have a raised concrete area there but concerned that the concrete would crack if it comes back up! A concrete section close to it has been pushed up and cracked, presumably due to the cordyline?

Get a mattock and hack away at the rootball several times over the next few weeks.

  • Why kill it could you move it by digging a big root ball of soil out

I removed a large Cordyline following the winter of 09/10 ; completely destroyed the top growth .
    Still sending up sideshoots !
Follow Blue Onions advice and hack away until there's nothing left underground .
