Bumps on my apples

Does anyone know why the apples on my Lord Lambourne cordon are lumpy? A significant number have dropped off and some of them are split round the stalk. Any idea if I can rectify this and what is causing it?

    Maybe capsid bug damage.

Don’t worry, they peel off and are just as good to eat.

The cracks may be due to infrequent or irregular water supply while the fruit is growing.

Dropping off is normal. The tree loses fruit because it can’t support them all. Happens every year round about June and is called The June Drop.
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
