Acer

The leaves on the attached photo of Acer show leaves damaged. Would this be due to dry conditions and lack of rain or water.

    Did you water it in bright sunshine? 
    Looks like sun scald to me.
    Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

    Many thanks for response . Yes another lesson learned will bear that in mind when watering in future . Hopefully no lasting damage. Peter

    The purple ones are a bit more susceptible too Peter. Don't worry - it'll be  fine, it's just a wee bit unsightly.
    It's particularly difficult this year for this type of shrub and many others. Too hot, dry and sunny for many of them.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    It's the same kind of damage that happens with wind too.

    Some acers like a lot of shade and shelter from wind.

    Location of Acer is ok just gardener that needs to improve his knowledge of watering Acer's
