    Carrots come in different colours

at one time only orange carrots were fashionable, but nowadays the seeds of some of the old different coloured varieties are available.  They taste just as good as the orange ones.

Either purple or white @Lyn ... can't remember which ... maybe it was both?   I know the orange colour was a (relatively) recent development, and apparently it coincided with the ascent of William of Orange to the throne of England, or something like that, orange carrots became 'the thing' and the others were no longer wanted .... until now  :)
