Strawberries

polbpolb Posts: 198
Hi, I have around 12 strawberry plants and two of them seem to be sprouting really tall, thick stems and quite bushy with no strawberries! I'm wondering if they are something else or perhaps I need to cut these back or are they a different type, yet to fruit?? I've moved to the property so I'm not sure what type the previous owner planted. The others are doing really well, with lots of fruit.

Any thoughts?

Mine have not done as well as expected this year. The plants could have been last year's suckers growing on this year and may well flower next year. Picture?

Yes I had wondered if they were some kind of sucker shoots...if they are, should I cut them off? I'll try to get a photo!

Suckers are how to get more plants, they usually are attached by a stem. If they have rooted just cut the stem and keep the plants if that's what you want.😁
