Chilli plants outside

I got a bunch of chilli plants that were growing in the window but i noticed somehow they had a lot of green flies living in the flowers. I started them from seed back in march and now they are quite big. I decided to spray the bugs off and put them outside because of the fly infestation but just wondering if they will do ok outside in the south western uk climate( obviously right now we have a heatwave). The previous year i grew them in the window and they had bountiful yields. The flies don't seem to be harming the plant from what i can see anyway.

  • Hi Chris I'm in Yorkshire and my chillies are outside with a bit of protection (not that it's needed currently)in a little plastic grow house against a south facing wall. Two plants both thriving, already have multiple fruits.

Thanks for the response! What varieties are you growing out of interest? I have capsicum annuum, razmataz, hotwax and super chilli. Wondering if some fare better in cooler climates then others.
  • Two fire chillies picked up as small plants from local Wyevale garden centre.
  • Just checked they're called Fire Ghost picture of some of fruits attached

Superchili growing in a pot on my patio a couple of years ago-

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

I had a lot of Thai food that year :)

I'm growing them again this year, but they're still a bit small to be planted out yet. As you can see they preformed very well on my patio. I used tomorite to feed them
