    No he posted a leaflet through my door ... fully insured ECT turns out he wasn't insured fake license plates everything

    Who prepared the ground beforehand, was it him or you? Its a pretty tough time of year to be laying turf anyway, but once the heat subsides you may find it starts to take. I think most peoples lawns are probably looking pretty terrible at the moment. Id Just make sure you keep it drenched for now, and then reassess once the weather is less horrendous for grass

    Unfortunately trading standards can't do anything .. no adress for him he's done a runner 😣 though I still have all of his tools in my garage

    I'd report him to the police then ... he's committed a fraud.   They may not be able to do much ... but his name will be on their list and if other people then report him all the information adds up.

    That's what I've done I've text him saying he can either refund me and take his tools or give me his tools as payment for damages

    Ask the police if you can sell his tools then ... at least you'll get some money back  >:)
