Fruit Trees Now??

Hi everyone. I wanted to plant cherry trees in my garden now, but I am not sure if it is a good idea. Isn't it too late for it? I want them to grow properly so won't weather conditions prevent it to do it? What about other fruit trees? When it is the best time to plant them?

Best time to plant trees is in the late autumn. October. Ground still warmish. Tree asleep. Plenty rain.

i agree with pansyface, don't plant now, you plant in early autumn, that way the roots can do a little growing before winter hits and there's plenty of water around to help it settle in
