Victoria plum silver sticky leaves

I've noticed that I don't have anywhere near the usual amount of 'plumlets' on my Victoria this year. But I have noticed a sticky silvery substance on a couple of branches. Strangely enough the leaves don't look like pictures I've seen of silver leaf fungus. Is it the end of my wonderful plums?. I normally get a good 35lbs of fruit in the last week of August/first week of September. Can anything be done please?. Thanks.

Perhaps it’s powdery mildew. See here

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

    Thank you.
  • Hello, I was wondering did you ever find out what was wrong with your plum tree? Ive been googling silver leaf etc as mine looks EXACTLY like your photos. I’m struggling to decide if it’s actually silver leaf or not so it would be great to hear how yours ended up.
