The crab apple tree in our garden has died.It had been there since we moved in so was at least 35 years and have no idea whether it was natural causes that killed it off or not!! We want to replace it with another crab apple as the birds love it.Should we plant a new one a specific distance away from the one that died in case it was diseased.Any advice gratefully received.
