A friend gave me this yesterday. We both don't know what it is. can you name it and how to cultivate if perennial ?

It looks like Rhodohypoxis. An alpine type low growing plant. It’s frost hardy and a perennial.

It needs good drainage to get thru a wet winter.

Never managed to get it to survive outside here, over even a normal winter.
Needs to be kept perfectly dry once the leaves disappear at the end of the Summer. Then watered again when the leaves appear in late Spring. Mice adore them too.
