I've finally built and filled my greenhouse and I'm very exited about it!

Some of you will have seen my (numerous) threads about choosing a greenhouse I finally got permission to get one (it only cost me an engagement ring in exchange...).

Its finally built, and populated with the chilli plants that have been infesting the house for several months. I've also installed a Irrigatia C24 solar powered irrigation system which so far seems to be working a treat.

The brief was that I wasn't allowed 'one of those ugly aluminium things' and that I had to 'make it look pretty'. Well I think I achieved both and the chillies seem quite happy, I might have to put some shade cloth up as the long side gets direct sun from mid morning to late afternoon.

Anyway, enough words here are some pictures:

Congratulations on both your engagement and new greenhouse.  Now you'll always have a place to go if there's ever strife about lol

That does look classy and professional.  Sorry, but female curiosity: which cost more, the greenhouse or the ring?  Or is that classified information?

It's a Vitavia Freya, I bought mine from Garden Street as they were the cheapest at the time. I also need one one so I could get in from the side where the path is as the garage is being extended up to the end of the slab with the pots on so I was limited by access with a normal pitch roof one with the door on the short side.

Its a nice greenhouse, you have to enjoy mechano to build it. It also uses aluminium bolts so you definitely need a torque wrench for tightening them up as they shear easily if tightened to much.

If someone did a supply and build service in retrospect I think I would have paid for it as I struggled to get it square to get the glass in but once built it's really solid.

Once built it's spacious with plenty of roof height even for me at 6'+. josusa47 said:

The Ring initially, but once you count the staging and irrigation it's probably quite similar - but I'm not going to tell her that!

I'm not sure a transactional marriage is going to be much fun. At least you will have your greenhouse to sulk in.
