Whats wrong with my broccoli?

I wonder does anyone know whats causing this in my broccoli plants. The first two photos are of the same plant its in a pot of multi purposes compost.

This second plants is in clay soil with compost.

Searched the internet and cant figure it out any ideas?

It might be that the soil is on the acidic side, and brassicas prefer it alkaline. You can add some lime,  ground chalk, calcified seaweed, or mushroom compost  to make it more alkaline.

Put a little Epsom salts around the plants and gently fork it in with a trowel (but don't let it touch the plant stem itself) then give them a good watering. The result will be amazing in a few days

Also take Figet's advice - a little horticultural lime will not harm at all with brassicas and will tone down any acidity that's there.
  • I'll try them both and see if that works thanks so much, Lorna
