Labelling my plants four

davemeddavemed Posts: 80
I have four plants to post for naming this is number four.  I believe it is South African and should flower, it never has since planted many years ago.
Thank you.

Does that die down every year (i.e. herbaceous) or do you cut it down? If it is a shrub that flowers on last years new wood , you may be cutting off the new flowers.

    Hello fidgetbones,
My late wife always cut it down since she bought it. The foliage does die down.  It was bought as a climbing plant.  From what you say I will not do that this year and see what happens.  Thank you.

If it is a climber, try not cutting it down this year. It may then flower next spring, and you can send us another photo then.

Could it be Campsis (trumpet vine), Dave?

    Hello DimWit,
Could well be.  I will look it up later today for further research.
    Thank you.
