I live in york in a Victorian terrace with small backyard....can you suggest some tall plants must be in containers that will grow against a wall....thanks
Sun or shade, shrub or perennial. Flowers, size of container? Clematis is good but needs a big pot. Roses, box topiary. Bamboo, grasses, alliums, agapanthus. The list is vast and without knowing the answer to my questions it's difficult to offer specific suggestions.
Part shade .....would like evergreen ....like different coloured foliage ....any coloured flower but really lik e just white....thanks for your response.
A choisya Sundance might do quite well in a good sized pot. It's often happy in part shade. Evergreen, pretty hardy, white flowers, a nice scent, long flowering.
Big showy leaves?Go for Fascia japonica. Good in shade. As you live in York look in Museum Gardens they did have one in large pot near Museum Street entrance.
