cherry buds dying.

Hi Everyone,
Last year I planted a cherry tree in a pot and later on in the year fully bloomed with the wonderful flowers then cherrys, this year it bloomed with the flowers then they turned into the cherry buds, as the buds developed they have started to turn brown and fall off the tree. I cannot remember the type of cherry tree it is I've watered it well in this lovely warm weather can anuone tell me whats happening to my cherry tree please.

Possibly the blossom didn't get pollinated due to the Beast from the East or the Pest from the West ... the weather was rotten in most parts of the country around blossom time.
