Narrow bed with tree stumps in ideas

Hi
We are about to sell our house and I want to make the front look good. We've a narrow bed between us and the neighbours which we had several massive Conifers cut down from (they couldn't remove the stumps due to all the concrete around the bed. I've cleared all the weeds and ivy but unsure what to do with the bed now. Any ideas on how to make it look smart and prevent weeds appearing would be helpful. I'm considering putting gravel or stones down but as the bed mounds in the middle around the stumps I don't know if this is practical!
Thanks

Large colorful flowers would be lovely, with newspaper covered in bark mulch to suppress weeds between the plants (until they are large enough to shade out weeds on their own).  Do you have a picture you can share of the site?  What is the soil and sun conditions?

You could sow trailing nasturtiums, they grow fast and you can train them around and over the stumps.
