Many Congratulations

Monty Don has got an OBE. It is a shame that he was not mentioned on the news this morning, as they said about other actors etc who received honours. Many congratulations, well deserved, gardening is the best thing ever, it is so rewarding and is so helpful for me in my illness, it is great therapy. Keep on the good work Monty.

Yes,  congratulations to him and all those who have received well deserved honours ... not sure about the Network Rail chappie  :/

Monty's honour was definitely reported on the Radio 4 news .... several times.

    and on BBC news page.
I can't remember who said OBE stood for " Old Big 'ed " I bet he'd rather have the VMH which Carol Klein got .
Methinks a P45 for the guy from Network Rail is more fitting.

Haven't seen or heard any news yet today so had to google.    Congrats to all especially the 103 year old poppy seller (why so long a wait after 90+ years of service?) and Kate Adie who is also long overdue for recognition.

Congrats also to SIR (King) Kenny Dalglish .... a long overdue knighthood.
His empathy and support to the Hillsborough families over many, many, years .... often at great emotional cost to himself  ... was just inspiring.
He is a credit to LFC, and will be forever a true legend.

He was also a rather good player!

    Bee xx

Big congratulations to all. Hosta, so sour?
  • Congrats also to SIR (King) Kenny Dalglish
Echo that. I went to the world cup qualifier at Anfield when Scotland beat Wales to qualify for the 1978 World Cup. As Welsh kids we were all devastated to get beaten but we were all trying to mimic King Kenny's header to win the match in the playground the next day. Won't mention Joe Jordan's handball, but Sir Kenny Dalglish is both a hero and an absolute gentleman.

I can't help wondering though whether they intended to give one to Paul Gascoigne and gave it to Bamber by mistake.
