Similar to the result of dog wee although that's normally more round in shape. Could anything have been spilt? Rake it out and reseed.
  • Hi I've just laid a new lawn. The turf and topsoil came from a landscaping company who use this for there projects. But after a few days several of these patches appeared. It was lad on ground previously grasses which was dug up. And a small patio area which I dug out all the old hard core new soil etc levelled takes and turffed.  All seemed spot on. But several patches some a lot smaller appeared. We did water well. But have had a couple of torrential rain so I'm after some help.

Maybe the damage occurred before it was laid but you are now only seeing the results?

As in my preparation of the soil etc?

The photo posted at 9.32 ... does that show a join in the turves?   If so it's unlikely to be a problem that occurred before it was laid

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

No, I was thinking to the turf itself prior to being laid but as Dove pointed out the join would suggest that was unlikely.
