Thanks Silver surfer. Just reading up on ferns generally and it looks like I need to do quite a bit more research into the pinnae, stipes, etc. I didn't realise how complex they are - they've certainly got me intrigued.
Many ferns are quite promiscuous and frequently hybridise themselves so unless you have a division from a named variety you may find it very difficult to get a firm ID ... but that doesn't detract from their charm

I agree with Dove. I love ferns and grew loads of different ones in old garden... ....from really tiny ones to much larger. ....Ones for wet areas and ones for dry Very under rated

But from your pics impossible to say which one
