Is my cherry tree dead?

Last autumn I bought two young trees but now the cherry looks dead. The apple aree looks healthy with lots of leaves and new shoots coming but the cherry has recently seemed very sick. The leaves have shriveled up and fallen off. Is it dead or can I revive it? What should I do?  It was bought from JParkers and I've already had a refund from a hawthorn that just failed to thrive! I'm starting to wish I'd never bought from them now!

It does look a bit dead!
I've never had a lot of luck with JParkers trees - can't beat them on their bulbs though.
I've always found them great in terms of refunding or replacing though - never any hassle.

Thanks pbff I just did the scratch test and it is still green showing under the bark so that gives me hope it's still alive. I'll read the rest of the article to see what To do next.
