Forum home Plants

ID again please!

I didn't get a reply to my last post  :(   so trying again. I know I asked a while ago but I have new photos of my mystery plant - which is getting quite tall. Someone suggested that it's Lavatera but I have my doubts. It has developed buds - as in photo. The leaves are very soft and velvety. Thanks folks.

    Certainly looks like Mallow family.

Hello Lyn🙋🏻‍♀️   Haven’t seen you for a while, hope all going well for in your home and garden.
I have no idea what you plant is, but I would say by the rapid growth that it’s weed, definitely not Lavertera, maybe wait until the flower pops open, but it looks like something that’s going to spread seeds everywhere!
It may be something beautiful and rare😀

    Probably Malva sylvestris?

They are huge big buds on the top for a Malva,  they flower all the way up the stem, and I didn’t think they had soft furry leaves?

Are those lovely flowers going to emerge from that huge bud?

It looks to me like Lavatera olbia, hybrid or cultivar
