Hardy screening plants

I would like to use plants around the curved edge of this area to create a certain degree of privacy as we’d like to make this
into a seating/relaxing area.
We live in Aberdeenshire and I would like a suggestion of the best low maintenance, hardy plant that would be best for this purpose?
