Keeping these Tithonia seeds alive..

I have discovered I am really rubbish at growing flowers from seed beyond initial germination  - partly my conditions I think (warm inside but little light due to deep roof overhangs and fixed mozzie netting; too cold at night to survive in the poly). I sowed these 5 days ago, thinking, oh well, probably fail too:

I’m in shock, they are growing at a cracking rate! I put them outside today to get some light as the sun is quite hazy and they hopefully won’t get burnt, but will bring them in at night.

My first question is, they are very leggy, can I pot them on the very minute they get a hint of their second leaves and bury the leggy stems a bit, or is this what they are supposed to be like at this stage? The tray is quite shallow so they may need more depth sooner rather than later.

Secondly, how many to a 7cm pot or do they need one each? Not sure how bushy they grow and how much growing space they need.

Any advice appreciated!
