Hi fine people. We are due to go on a short holiday in 2 weeks time and would like to visit a couple of gardens.  We have already ear marked hestercombe bur as we don' know the region would like people advice on which gardens to visit within an hours drive

We realy visiting walled gardens, kitchen gardens or traditional gardens/cottage with rose/herbaceous borders. We dont' realy like modern gardens, or capibiliy brown themed gardens type gardens as our intrest is in flowers, veg, fruit as opposed to the landscaping or lots of trees
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Try East Lambrook Manor; it was the home of Margery Fish and is very atmospheric. Not huge but lovely, it's just off the A303

Hestercombe is gorgeous - it's near Taunton so a short day trip from Glastonbury

    Hi Jason
Tintinhull, Barrington Court, both National Trust and  The Bishops Palace in Wells (Wells is a lovely place to go anyway) are all worth a visit. Hope you enjoy your holiday.
