Hosta. Remove flower stem from small\weak plant?

The one at the front either St Paul or more probably empress wu.

Planted where it was too dry and ravaged by snails.  Rescued a year later...a bit late.   found the tiniest of remnant and potted it.  Two years on it feels healthy but still nursing it....and it has prepared to flower over what must be a day or two at most.

Allow to flower or remove stem?  In my head removing stem should put less stress on roots and leaves.  ...I'm just guessing., any expertise appreciate.

Odd that you see at the back hosta still not fully out.

I remove the flowers because I don't like them much and when they fade, the petals stick to the leaves. I think you will get better foliage if you don't allow it to flower.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
