It looks like the dodgy sections hadn't been tamped down properly and therefore the roots can't bind into the soil below. Water the whole area and then try flattening that area by smacking it with the back of a spade. Grass is pretty resilient so there is a good chance of recovery. When you say it was laid on Wednesday, I presume you are talking about Wednesday of last week, not 2 days ago. If 2 days ago I would suggest that section of turf was actually dead when it was laid and the person laying it should have known that.
In which case it must have been like that to start with? Must have been stacked with another one on top of it by the look of it or dried right out. It should recover, but but I’d be letting him know I’m not that impressed by it tbh
I agree with KT and J'fire. I'd have a word with whoever did that. It shouldn't look like that within a couple of days of being laid. It should either be replaced, or you should get a refund of some kind. If you don't get anywhere with him, bit of sieved soil in the gaps as hogweed says. Thoroughly soak it and it may come away. If not, you may need to sow a bit of seed. Good luck with resolving it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
