Problem with Alliums

Hi - I've got white growths on some of my alliums (just at the base of the flowers heads).  Does anyone know what it is? Thanks

How weird.  Can you pick them off?  Do they look like a fungus or some sort of insect egg sacks?

I think these might be new bulbs growing, I think alliums can produce both new bulbs and seeds from the individual flowers.

Happy to be corrected if mistaken 🙂

I've pulled a couple off and they do appear to be teeny bulbs! wow wasnt expecting that! Any ideas what I should do? Do I just leave them for now? Sorry all a bit new to this gardening lark!

You could grow them on in pots ; maybe take 3-4 years to reach flowering size , probably more !
I just buy the flowering sized bulbs as I havn't the patience to wait that long !!!
