Germination

I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem this year, but none of my tomato's have germinated, with the exception of "Cascade" and the whole packet germinated.  I am using seed compost but mix in some horticultural grit for drainage.  I don't know if I have used too much grit, but I haven't had one tomato plant.  The seeds were Thompson & Morgan and in date!  I had no problems last year.  My cucumbers, corgettes, sweetcorn, runner and broad beans have all been fine!

My parents were very keen gardeners, they wouldn’t touch T &M and that was way back. I still feel the same, unless they are free, then worth a try. Wouldn’t buy them.
ive grown 6 different varieties of tomato, all have germinated and now planted out in GH beds.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
