Sorry no photo for now, but what could be a medium sized tree with elder like upright flowers with what looks like a smallish sycamore (or rather not as large as pseudoplatanus) leaf?
It looked a bit too large for that. I don't think the leaf quite matched, but the flowers were growing in a similar manner - as in horizontal saucers. Hard to see the flower detail from the floor. I'll try and get a little closer given the chance. Thanks.
Viburnum opulus isn't a million miles away, ticks the flower box, but the tree was much more maple like in habit, and leaf. (If it was a VO then pompom season would be something to behold.) Will try and dig out a good camera.
Oh, didn't realise these were different, I thought my flowers would transform later into pompoms. I have the former in my garden, and was hoping for some pompom action! Slightly confused. As for the tree the flowers appear right from the distance (not the pompom type). The leaves not so much. The bole is very maple like in stature. Will have to go back, I certainly couldn't find anything like it with a quick bit of sleuthing on the web. I thought for a second it could be box elder, because of the elder like flowers, but my Aunt has an acer negundo, and the leaves are different and it has keys, can't recall flowers. So not even sure why they call that the box elder.
