elaeagnus x ebbingei - not growing upright

Hello

Me again

Ongoing saga with my elaeagnus x ebbingei

It was originally growing upright just fine - but now its decided to flop abit and grow sideways

Is there a way to rectify this?

I've not pruned it or touched it since i got it (2 years ago now i think?)

any help appreciated!

 Kind Regards

The only way to keep it tight and upright is to prune the long horizontal branches back. You will need to prune all branches back a bit to encourage more side shoots. Those side shoots should be stronger and shorter making the shrub more compact and less floppy.

With many evergreen shrubs, if you leave them to grow, they will either try to reach for the sun or continue to extend their branches making them weaker and floppy. A yearly prune should keep your shrub more upright.

I would prune it this much.
