Trying again as I know most of you couldn't see the photos I added last week. Please let me know if you can see these okay - and hopefully give me some idea what these plants are. All have arrived in my garden under their own steam at some point and I'm sure some must be weeds. Apologies if they're not properly in focus - my eyesight isn't great so I can't tell!

1: This was taken a week ago and since then this has made a huge clump!

2: (the dead stalks are from where I cut it down at the end of last year. It has quite pretty pinky mauve flowers)

I can see them now, but I've no idea what they are, though the third one looks familiar ...
  • 1. Dock?
    2. Looks a bit like purple loosetrife but really not sure
    3. Ranunculus repens?

I'll keep an eye on 2 and see what the flowers are like. Number 3 is not creeping buttercup, HH, although I agree it does look very similar. Maybe wood avens, but it's growing in a dryish bed in full sun... The top one 1 is definitely not dock... unless anyone else recognises it I'll wait for flowers there again. I hope you're right nut, and it is figwort, that looks interesting :)

Aha, I knew no. 3 looked familiar! Wood Avens grew in our previous garden in dry clay in full sun, so they're not afraid of a bit of heat.

Great, so that's one positive ID - thanks DGM. Are you coming to the garden club outing tomorrow by the way? Me and Tim are going and I think I might be buying some ferns ;)
