Just as an extra interest, I took this photo yesterday of some of our Eucalypts out the back. The colour is autumn bark before it peels off.

That is a gorgeous pic @Pat E. Love it 😊

Thanks Dove. It’s nice to see the various colours in an otherwise dull Eucalyptus environment. 😊

I had one at my last address, they grow very quickly, I bought it when my daughter was 13,  it was in a small pot.  this was it 10 years after.   A neighbour had a row of them, the council made him have them cut down as they told him they can just fall over!

They’re more likely to simply drop large branches without warning, Lyn. 😳
Do you know which one you had? It looks very happy there.

Can’t remember now Pat, just the common one, nothing fancy, I only took the photo because my cat, then a kitten was up the top of it, don’t know if you can see him, it did drop bits off.

I love the op's tree here, glad that it worked out.  I really want a hedge of eucalyptus and am keen to cut them back for those strange young leaflets. Would have been a shame to loose that one, as the shape and bark so lovely. Birch and these cast such nice shade.

    Does it sound nice?

Nice, in a way, but the bark makes a mess in your garden, and they drop quite a few leaves at certain times.
