This is Aquilegia viridiflora. Got it last year and it has flowered this year. It is all of 9 inches high! But a little beauty!

I have not seen this one before Hogweed - it is exquisite, so dainty.  I have a few new ones flowering this year - all grown from seed - some of which I got from friendly folk on this forum.  I have Spring Magic and Grannies Bonnets to name just two. Where did you get your seed from?

Bought it last year as a plug from SR. Grew it on and planted it out mid summer. Didn't think they would come through all our snow but they did. I must check and see if the seeds are fertile (just checked and they are - bonus) but RHS do say it is a short-lived perennial. I will let one of the plants set seed and try.

I can't keep viridis alive for long but it leaves its mark with some wonderful hybrids
