Hello everyone, this shrub is in our new garden, does anyone know what it is called. It looks beautiful when the sun shines on it. Thank you.

I believe it to be a Prunus, but can't say which- many have young red leaves like that...

It looks like Cotinus Coggygria, the smoke bush shrub.

I did wonder if it was a smoke bush. It will be staying where it is and I will see what it does during the summer. Thank you both for replying so quickly. :)

I think it is a Cotinus too.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I think it's the variety " Grace "

Can also be made slightly more compact with some drastic pruning if required .

Cotinus OK. Nice leaves and flowering but terrible habit. Used to have one specimen in garden but glad I got rid of it. o:)

What's its bad habit @Papi Jo ? I have a couple and they are pretty well-behaved imo...
