comfrey fertiliser

I made fertiliser last year by putting comfrey leaves into a bucket of water but did not use it.  Will it be ok to use now and if so what should the dilution rate be?  Thank you in anticipation.

Garden Organic say it can be kept for up to a year other people say that after that the composition of nutrients break down so I just pour mine on compost heap as an activator and make fresh.
1 part in 10 is usual ratio it's very strong so don't overy do
