Overwintering pansies-is it worth it?

sandyvsandyv Posts: 113
Leaving them overwinter seems to lead to floppy long stems with just  a few flowers. Is it worth it, or best to cut losses and get rid of them after flowering? Here's some that flowered last year and I just left tub in a quiet corner. Or would some earlier TLC return their good looks?

I'd get some new ones in the autumn. You might also notice some self seeders in the pot which would be worth potting up and keeping
However, I've noticed that the blue violas always flower through the winter and still look good in the summer

For me the ones overwintered in pots became a bit ragged and long, the ones in beds look great though.

I just cut them back when they get too leggy.. they are soon blooming again.
