Help - dahlia identification please

I love my dahlias, and because I live in one of the most southern parts of the UK I have never had to worry about lifting the tubers in autumn as it never gets cold enough to really harm the tubers and they come back every year with no problem. Sadly the Beast from the East was just too cold and fierce and I lost the lot. I am replacing my collection (and will be lifting the tubers from now on) but I can't for the life of me remember the name of this particular one, I only got it last year and it's been a real stunner. I would love to find another one so if anyone can advise me as to the name I would be most grateful!

If you find out, let me know. I love it and it would look lovely with all the dark varieties I grow like Arabian Night and Nuit d'été.

It might be Cafe au Lait. I'm like Hostafan, my collection is mainly purple although my favourite which I keep in a separate bed, is a dark leaved one called Fascination...the bees love it.

Isn't it a little too early to believe you've lost the lot @louhewison? Several of mine that I kept in the ground are just starting to sprout... I'm still holding out for several more of them to burst into life...

You may be right, but if they are still alive then they are extremely late....which would not be that strange I guess as everything else is delayed this year. I scour the beds each day for any sign of a sprout. If I am wrong then I will be delighted! I would still love to be reminded of the name though....just in case :)

Yes! That's it! I remember now! Ooooh you super star you! Thankyou!

And thankyou to everyone else who took the time to comment. I haven't posted much on here before but I certainly will be now. I  may also be purchasing a Cafe au lait, Nuit D'ete and a Fascination as I have googled the varieties and they are lovely!

I dug over a patch on Friday and came across a dahlia tuber that I'd left in!  It has loads of shoots on it - so replanted!  All my potted dahlias are now sprouting or growing well (even a couple that I nearly chucked out a couple of weeks ago!) ... (GL54 area).

Morning report: David Howard, New Baby and Karma Choc (one of my faves!) are now shooting! Yay!
