Lilacs
Exactly a year ago, I posted a question regarding lilac blooms, or rather the paucity of in my garden. One or two people were having the same problem, which mollified me somewhat. I am happy to say that this year it is the exact opposite: I have so many blooms that they are overpowering what few leaves are currently out. It seems that this harsh winter, or aspects thereof, have had the same effect on all the flowering shrubs. My Choisya ternata is just laden - and so sweet smelling too - my pieris, large and miniature, are the brightest red I have ever seen them, the Clematis 'Wesselton' is also loaded, etc. etc. It seems like everything is doing exactly as we are, getting out while the going is good!!
