Plant identification please.

The plant below is growing on the riverbank in two areas about a half mile apart,..it blooms in Sept/Oct and reaches a height of approx 150cm/5ft 3ins,..i travel for miles either walking or boating upriver and downriver and have never come across this plant before.

The leaves are very similar to Asters,..i took some home and it rooted and bloomed as seen in the last image.






Growing in my own garden.

    Thank you B3,..i would go for that as the flower and leaf are identical also the bloom time,..i will look into your suggestion and i think its the right direction,..Philip.
