Advice required- laying turf

Hello Gardeners World. I am an amateur when I comes to gardening and would really appreciate some assistance here

I am looking to lay a some turf in the next couple of weeks but unsure on where to start after I have cleared away the rubble.

I know I need to kill the weeds and level the ground..but do I start with laying sand and top soil?
Not sure on the process..please help
