How are my grape vines doing?

JoeXJoeX Posts: 1,783
Hi all,

Dont know anything about growing grapes.  Put four of these in the ground last autumn, kept one in the shed which seems to be doing best from a leaf point of view.

None have gained any height yet. How do these look?

Im getting some more arches to train them over. Maybe some wire if they make it to the fence.

Well, they are all alive, which is always a plus point.🙂
Well said pansyface! Am amazed you kept them alive outside, through the beastly snow etc. Where are you tinpot?

I asked advice here about the snow but everyone said just leave them alone.  I did give about an inch of my own compost as mulch. One of them has no signs of green.

Might give them some blood fish bone?

Originally I was going to make arches from the trees out front, but think I’ll buy some cheap metal ones off amazon.

What varieties do you have?  I find my three types all come into leaf at different times, nearly four weeks span between them!  My seedless concord is the slowest.

Our Boskoop Glory is not showing any green yet ... it's always quite late into leaf  :)

Two year old Boskoop glory seems to have made it through the weather here also.
