When I was younger, I desperately wanted a pond in the garden... my Dad came home one day with an old bathtub that someone had left out for the rubbish men, et voila, there was our pond! I think a potty in the garden would be just fine - it will certainly make a good talking point!

A couple of years ago my dad asked me to get rid of an old metal bathtub that had been in the field for 30 years or so. After it had gone he asked me what I'd done with it. I told him I buried it at the bottom of the garden (I probably should have taken the taps off)
I'm having trouble getting the overflow to seal properly though so it won't fill up to the rim at the moment.
Talking about tiny ponds, I've found an old white china potty - the kind kept under the bed in the good old days and was wondering what to do with it (clean suggestions only please!) Would it be naff to put a miniature water lily in it and put it in the garden somewhere?
We've always called it a po but I'm not sure whether that's the correct spelling (and I'm a proofreader!) What a pretty little area Vix, that's going to be lovely - please do post photos of progress!
Thanks for all the advice, I might well have a go if I can find a nice waterlily.
My grandmother used to call it a po as well. It makes me feel really ancient as I remember she only had an outside toilet when I was little, to which my father had to escort me in the dark and check for big spiders before I would venture inside! Gran also had the proverbial newspaper cut into squares and hung on a hook.
